About Linda

Linda Glaser, author

You might be surprised to hear that when I was a kid, I used to say I hated reading. That’s because it was so hard for me. I struggled and struggled and feared I’d never get the hang of it.

However, I loved books! Some of my fondest childhood memories are of being read to by my mother. I still love being read to. But I did finally learn to read on my own — in third grade. And now I not only love reading children’s books, I also love writing them.

Back when I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a children’s book author. I wrote stories and poems all through childhood. When I grew up, I kept writing and started submitting my work. Twelve years later, after more rejections than I care to remember, my first book was published, Keep Your Socks on, Albert!

Since then I’ve been lucky enough to have many more books published. I still get rejections. However, I also keep getting new book ideas. So I always have plenty of stories to work on. They keep me entertained and excited. I feel very grateful to have a career doing something I truly love.
